الزهد لأحمد:٢١٧ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا أبِي حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُصْعَبٍ عَنِ الْأَوْزَاعِيِّ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ قَالَ قَالَ سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ لِابْنِهِ «يَا بُنَيَّ لَا تُكْثِرِ الْغَيْرَةَ عَلَى أَهْلِكَ فَتُرْمَى بِالسُّوءِ مِنْ أَجْلِكَ وَإِنْ كَانَتْ بَرِيئَةً يَا بُنَيَّ إِنَّ مِنَ الْحَيَاءِ ضَعْفًا وَمِنْهُ وَقَارًا لِلَّهِ ﷻ يَا بُنَيَّ إِنْ أَحْبَبْتَ أَنْ تَغِيظَ عَدُوَّكَ فَلَا تَرْفَعِ الْعَصَا

عَنِ ابْنِكَ يَا بُنَيَّ كَمَا يَدْخُلُ الْوَتِدَ بَيْنَ الْحَجَرَيْنِ وَكَمَا تَدْخُلُ الْحَيَّةُ بَيْنَ الْجُحْرَيْنِ فَكَذَلِكَ تَدْخُلُ الْخَطِيئَةُ بَيْنَ الْبَيْعَيْنِ»
