الزهد لأحمد:٢١٢٠ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سُوقَةَ حَدَّثَنِي رَجُلٌ يُقَالُ لَهُ عِمْرَانُ قَالَ دَخَلْتُ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ أَعُودُهُ فَبَكَى قَالَ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ مَا يُبْكِيكَ يَا أَبَا عِمْرَانَ؟ قَالَ

«أَنْتَظِرُ مَلَكَ الْمَوْتِ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ مَا أَدْرِي بِأَيِّ شَيْءٍ يُبَشِّرُنِي بِالْجَنَّةِ أَوْ بِالنَّارِ؟»
