ahmad-zuhd:2109ʿAbdullāh > Abū Maʿmar > Jarīr > Mughīrah > Raʾá ʿĀṣim b. Hubayrah Ṭabl or Duf Faʾakhadhah from Ṣāḥibih Fajaʿal Yanqur ʿAlayh Fayakhriquh Falā Yaqdir ʿAlayh

[Machine] 'Aasim bin Hubayrah saw a tambourine or a drum, so he took it from its owner and began tapping on it but it broke and he was unable to fix it. He said, "I am not helped by Satan; they have what helps me with this."'  

الزهد لأحمد:٢١٠٩حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو مَعْمَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ قَالَ

رَأَى عَاصِمُ بْنُ هُبَيْرَةَ طَبْلًا أَوْ دُفًّا فَأَخَذَهُ مِنْ صَاحِبِهِ فَجَعَلَ يَنْقُرُ عَلَيْهِ فَيَخْرِقُهُ فَلَا يَقْدِرُ عَلَيْهِ وَيَقُولُ «مَا أَعْيَانِي شَيْطَانٌ لَهُمْ مَا أَعْيَانِي هَذَا»
