ahmad-zuhd:2104ʿAbdullāh > Isḥāq b. Mūsá Abū Mūsá al-Anṣārī > ʿAbd al-Raḥman b. Muḥammad al-Muḥāribī > al-Aʿmash

[Machine] I heard Al-A'mash say, "I told Ibrahim At-Taymi that it reached me that you stay for a month without eating anything." He said, "Yes, for two months I have not eaten anything for forty nights, except for a grape that my family gave me, so I ate it and then spit it out." Then I said to Al-A'mash, "Do you believe him?" Ibrahim ibn Yazid At-Taymi said, "He intends that he is truthful."  

الزهد لأحمد:٢١٠٤حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مُوسَى أَبُو مُوسَى الْأَنْصَارِيُّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمُحَارِبِيَّ يَقُولُ

سَمِعْتُ الْأَعْمَشَ يَقُولُ قُلْتُ لِإِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّيْمِيِّ بَلَغَنِي أَنَّكَ تَمْكُثُ شَهْرًا لَا تَأْكُلُ شَيْئًا قَالَ نَعَمْ وشَهْرَيْنِ مَا أَكَلْتُ مُنْذُ أَرْبَعِينَ لَيْلَةً إِلَّا حَبَّةَ عِنَبٍ نَاوَلَنِيهَا أَهْلِي فَأَكَلْتُهَا ثُمَّ لَفِظْتُهَا ثُمَّ قُلْتُ لِلْأَعْمَشِ أَصَدَّقْتَهُ؟ فَقَالَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ التَّيْمِيُّ يُرِيدُ أَنَّهُ صَدُوقٌ
