[Machine] He came to me tonight with a black dog wearing a chain around its neck and three spots on its face. He said, "This is the one that whispers dreams to you in the spring."  

الزهد لأحمد:١٩٨٨ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ خِدَاشٍ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ وَصَّالٍ مَوْلَى أَبِي عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ لَقِيطٍ أَنَّ رَجُلًا جَاءَ إِلَى الرَّبِيعِ بْنِ خُثَيْمٍ فَقَالَ إِنَّ آتٍ يَأْتِينِي مُنْذُ ثَلَاثٍ فَيَقُولُ أَخْبِرِ الرَّبِيعَ بْنَ خُثَيْمٍ أَنَّهُ مِنْ أَهْلِ النَّارِ فَيَتَعَوَّذَ وَيَتْفُلَ عَنْ [275] يَسَارِهِ ثَلَاثًا فَأَتَاهُ الْغَدَاةَ فَقَالَ

أَتَانِي اللَّيْلَةَ آتٍ بِكَلْبٍ أَسْوَدَ فِي عُنُقِهِ سِلْسِلَةٌ وَفِي وَجْهِهِ ثَلَاثُ شَجَّاتٍ فَقَالَ «هَذَا الَّذِي يُوَسْوِسُ لَكَ الرُّؤْيَا فِي الرَّبِيعِ»
