[Machine] We heard Nouf saying, "Verily, the world is likened to a bird, so when its wing is cut off, it falls; and indeed, Basra and Egypt are its two wings, so when they are destroyed, the world will go away."  

الزهد لأحمد:١٨١٠حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ قَالَ أُخْبِرْتُ عَنْ سَيَّارٍ حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرٌ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عِمْرَانَ الْجَوْنِيَّ وَأَبَا هَارُونَ الْعَبْدِيَّ يَقُولَانِ

سَمِعْنَا نَوْفًا يَقُولُ «إِنَّ الدُّنْيَا مُثِّلَتْ عَلَى طَيْرٍ فَإِذَا انْقَطَعَ جَنَاحُهُ وَقَعَ وَإِنَّ جَنَاحَيِ الْأَرْضِ مِصْرُ وَالْبَصْرَةُ فَإِذَا خَرِبَتَا ذَهَبَتِ الدُّنْيَا»
