[Machine] "And he is told, 'O Abu Bakr, you are going to the wedding and drinking barley water.' So he used to say, 'Indeed, I dislike to make my great hunger be on the food of people.'"  

الزهد لأحمد:١٧٨٥حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ هِلَالٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ هِشَامَ بْنَ حَسَّانَ يَذْكُرُ قَالَ كَانَ ابْنُ سِيرِينَ إِذَا دُعِيَ إِلَى وَلِيمَةٍ أَوْ إِلَى عُرْسٍ دَخَلَ مَنْزِلَهُ فَيَقُولُ اسْقُونِي شَرْبَةَ سَوِيقٍ

فَيُقَالُ لَهُ يَا أَبَا بَكْرٍ أَنْتَ تَذْهَبُ إِلَى الْعُرْسِ تَشْرَبُ سَوِيقًا فَكَانَ يَقُولُ [250] «إِنَّى أَكْرَهُ أَنْ أَجْعَلَ جَدَّ جُوعِي عَلَى طَعَامِ النَّاسِ»
