ahmad-zuhd:1592ʿAbdullāh from my father > Ismāʿīl b. Ibrāhīm > Yūnus

[Machine] Al-Hasan said, "Verily the believer, by Allah, does not start his day except in sadness, and does not end it except in sadness." Yunus said, "So it was as if Al-Hasan was a man who had been afflicted with a calamity."  

الزهد لأحمد:١٥٩٢حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ أَنْبَأَنَا يُونُسُ قَالَ

قَالَ الْحَسَنُ إِنَّ الْمُؤْمِنَ وَاللَّهِ مَا يُصْبِحُ إِلَّا حَزِينًا وَلَا يُمْسِي إِلَّا حَزِينًا قَالَ يُونُسُ فَكَانَ الْحَسَنُ لَا تَكَادُ تَلْقَاهُ إِلَّا وَكَأَنَّهُ رَجُلٌ قَدْ أُصِيبَ بِمُصِيبَةٍ
