ahmad-zuhd:1546ʿAbdullāh from my father > Fayyāḍ b. Muḥammad > Baʿḍ Aṣḥābinā Yukanná Abū Ayyūb

[Machine] Hasan entered the mosque with his bed and sat next to a group of people who were talking. He listened to their conversation and then approached a bed and said, "O bed, I swear by Allah, these are nothing but people who have become tired of worship and have found speaking easier for them than actions. And their piety has decreased, so they speak."  

الزهد لأحمد:١٥٤٦حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا فَيَّاضُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ حَدَّثَنَا بَعْضُ أَصْحَابِنَا يُكَنَّى أَبَا أَيُّوبَ قَالَ

دَخَلَ الْحَسَنُ الْمَسْجِدَ وَمَعَهُ فَرْقَدٌ فَقَعَدَ إِلَى جَنْبِ حَلْقَةٍ يَتَكَلَّمُونَ فَنَصَتَ لِحَدِيثِهِمْ قَالَ ثُمَّ أَقْبَلَ عَلَى فَرْقَدٍ فَقَالَ يَا فَرْقَدُ وَاللَّهِ مَا هَؤُلَاءِ إِلَّا قَوْمٌ مَلُّوا الْعِبَادَةَ وَوَجَدُوا الْكَلَامَ أَهْوَنَ عَلَيْهِمْ مِنَ الْعَمَلِ وَقَلَّ وَرَعُهُمْ فَتَكَلَّمُوا
