ahmad-zuhd:1533ʿAbdullāh > Muḥammad b. Ḥumayd > Nuʿaym b. Maysarah > Ibn ʿUyaynah b. al-ʿAṣr

[Machine] Al-Hasan may Allah have mercy on him said regarding His saying, " [They will be told], "The shackles and the chains that were on their necks and ankles will be dragged away. "[Ghafir 71]. He said, "We have been informed that the shackles were not placed on the necks of the people of the Fire because they were unable to overpower the Lord, Exalted and Glorified is He. Rather, whenever the flames subsided, the fire would seize them, and then Al-Hasan, may Allah have mercy on him, fell unconscious.  

الزهد لأحمد:١٥٣٣حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا نُعَيْمُ بْنُ مَيْسَرَةَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ بْنُ الْعَصْرِ قَالَ

قَالَ الْحَسَنُ رَحِمَهُ اللَّهُ فِي قَوْلِهِ ﷻ {إِذِ الْأَغْلَالُ فِي أَعْنَاقِهِمْ وَالسَّلَاسِلُ يُسْحَبُونَ} [غافر 71] قَالَ أُنْبِئْنَا أَنَّ الْأَغْلَالَ لَمْ تُجْعَلْ فِي أَعْنَاقِ أَهْلِ النَّارِ أَنَّهُمْ أَعْجَزُوا الرَّبَّ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى وَلَكِنْ كُلَّمَا طَفَا بِهِمُ اللَّهَبُ أَرْسَتْهُمُ النَّارُ ثُمَّ حُمِلَ الْحَسَنُ رَحِمَهُ اللَّهُ مَغْشِيًّا عَلَيْهِ
