Taqwa is in the heart and deeds

ahmad-zuhd:1517ʿAbdullāh > Rawḥ b. ʿAbd al-Muʾmin Abū al-Ḥasan al-Muqriʾ > Khālid b. Shawdhab

I saw Farqad al-Sinji wearing a woolen cloak, so al-Hasan took hold of his cloak and then said, “O son of Farqad,” two or three times, “Taqwa is not in this garment. Taqwa is only that which settles firmly in the heart and is confirmed by deeds and actions.”
