الزهد لأحمد:١٣٣٦ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قَالَ وَكَانَ مُطَرِّفُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ إِنَّكَ لَتَلْقَى الرِّجْلَيْنِ أَحَدُهُمَا أَكْثَرُ صَلَاةً وَصَوْمًا وَصَدَقَةً وَالْآخَرُ أَفْضَلُ مِنْهُ بَوْنًا بَعِيدًا قِيلَ لَهُ كَيْفَ ذَاكَ؟ قَالَ «يَكُونُ أَحَدُهُمَا أَشَدَّهُمَا وَرَعًا لِلَّهِ ﷻ
