[Machine] To me, Mutarraf, the fear of the fire has prevented me from asking Allah for paradise. Then a man from the people of Madinah, known as 'Utbah, said, "So 'Utbah, what is it that Allah does not seek from His slaves?"  

الزهد لأحمد:١٣٢٨حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو هِلَالٍ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ قَالَ كُنَّا جُلُوسًا عَلَى بَابِ أَنَسٍ فَقَالَ

لِي مُطَرِّفٌ لَقَدْ حَالَ خَوْفُ أوْ ذِكْرُ النَّارِ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ أَنْ أَسْأَلَ اللَّهَ الْجَنَّةَ قَالَ وَثَمَّ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ يُقَالُ لَهُ عُتْبَةَ قَالَ فَقَالَ عُتْبَةُ مَا ابْتَغَى اللَّهُ هَذَا مِنْ عِبَادِهِ
