ahmad-zuhd:129ʿAbdullāh > Hudbah b. Khālid > Ḥammād b. Salamah > Thābit > Anas

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The most fortunate people in this world will be brought on the Day of Resurrection and Allah, blessed and exalted, will command them to be dipped into the fire." He said, "They will be dipped in the fire, then brought back. Then Allah will ask, 'O son of Adam, have you ever experienced any pleasure? Have you ever seen anything that brings comfort to the eyes? Have you ever felt any joy?' He will reply, 'No, by Your honor.' Then it will be said, 'Return him to the fire.' Then the most severely tested people, who faced the greatest hardships in this world, will be brought forth and Allah (mighty and sublime be He) will command them to be dipped into Paradise." They will be dipped into Paradise, then brought back. Then it will be said, 'O son of Adam, have you ever seen anything that you hate?' He will reply, 'No, by Your honor. I have never seen anything that I hated.'

[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: The most severely tested people in this world are the people of Paradise. They are dipped in Paradise, and then Allah asks them, 'O son of Adam! Have you ever seen any hardship? Have you ever seen anything that you dislike?' They will reply, 'By Your honor, O Allah, we have never seen anything that we dislike.' Then the most blessed people in this world of the people of Hell will be brought, and they will be dipped once in Hell. Then Allah will ask them, 'O son of Adam! Have you ever seen any good? Have you ever seen anything that pleases you?' They will reply, 'By Your honor, O Allah, we have never seen anything that pleases us or a moment of comfort.'"
