[Machine] Jundub al-Bajali came down upon me and I heard him say, "The example of one who admonishes people but forgets himself is like a lamp that illuminates for others but burns itself."  

الزهد لأحمد:١٠١٨حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا صَالِحُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ التِّرْمِذِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا النَّضْرُ بْنُ شُمَيْلٍ عَنْ عَوْفٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْمِنْهَالِ حَدَّثَنِي صَفْوَانُ بْنُ مُحْرِزٍ قَالَ

نَزَلَ عَلَيَّ جُنْدُبٌ الْبَجَلِيُّ فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ مَثَلُ الَّذِي يَعِظُ النَّاسَ وَيَنْسَى نَفْسَهُ مَثَلُ الْمِصْبَاحِ يُضِيءُ لِغَيْرِهِ وَيَحْرِقُ نَفْسَهُ
