Jabir ibn 'Abdullah said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Beware of conversing after the night is still. None of you knows what creatures Allah will send, so lock your doors, tie up the water-skins, cover vessels and put out the lamps."

الأدب المفرد:١٢٣٠حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَجْلاَنَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْقَعْقَاعُ بْنُ حَكِيمٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِيَّاكُمْ وَالسَّمَرَ بَعْدَ هُدُوءِ اللَّيْلِ فَإِنَّ أَحَدَكُمْ لاَ يَدْرِي مَا يَبُثُّ اللَّهُ مِنْ خَلْقِهِ غَلِّقُوا الأَبْوَابَ وَأَوْكُوا السِّقَاءَ وَأَكْفِئُوا الإِنَاءَ وَأَطْفِئُوا الْمَصَابِيحَ
