Ibn 'Umar reported that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "None of you should make a man rise from his seat and then sit in it. Rather make room and spread out."

الأدب المفرد:١١٤٠حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ لاَ يُقِيمَنَّ أَحَدُكُمُ الرَّجُلَ مِنْ مَجْلِسِهِ ثُمَّ يَجْلِسُ فِيهِ وَلَكِنْ تَفَسَّحُوا وَتَوَسَّعُوا

The Prophet ﷺ said, "A man should not make another man get up from his (the latter's) seat (in a gathering) in order to sit there.

البخاري:٦٢٦٩حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مَالِكٌ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ؓ

None of you should make another one stand in the meeting and then occupy his place.
