The Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave the decision that the two adversaries should be made to sit in front of the judge.
قَضَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنَّ الْخَصْمَيْنِ يَقْعُدَانِ بَيْنَ يَدَىِ الْحَكَمِ
