The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever takes the property of a Muslim by taking a false oath, will meet Allah Who will be angry with him." Then the Prophet ﷺ recited the Verse:-- 'Verily those who purchase a small gain at the cost of Allah's Covenant and their oaths, they shall have no portion in the Hereafter, neither will Allah speak to them, nor look at them.' (3.77)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنِ اقْتَطَعَ مَالَ امْرِئٍ مُسْلِمٍ بِيَمِينٍ كَاذِبَةٍ لَقِيَ اللَّهَ وَهْوَ عَلَيْهِ غَضْبَانُ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ثُمَّ قَرَأَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مِصْدَاقَهُ مِنْ كِتَابِ اللَّهِ جَلَّ ذِكْرُهُ {إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَشْتَرُونَ بِعَهْدِ اللَّهِ وَأَيْمَانِهِمْ ثَمَنًا قَلِيلاً أُولَئِكَ لاَ خَلاَقَ لَهُمْ فِي الآخِرَةِ وَلاَ يُكَلِّمُهُمُ اللَّهُ} الآيَةَ

I heard the Messenger of Allah observing: He who took an oath on the property of a Muslim without legitimate right would meet Allah and He would be angry, with him. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in support of his contention recited the verse:" Verily those who barter Allah's covenant and their oaths at a small price.

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنْ حَلَفَ عَلَى مَالِ امْرِئٍ مُسْلِمٍ بِغَيْرِ حَقِّهِ لَقِيَ اللَّهَ وَهُوَ عَلَيْهِ غَضْبَانُ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ثُمَّ قَرَأَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مِصْدَاقَهُ مِنْ كِتَابِ اللَّهِ { إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَشْتَرُونَ بِعَهْدِ اللَّهِ وَأَيْمَانِهِمْ ثَمَنًا قَلِيلاً} إِلَى آخِرِ الآيَةِ

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'There is no man who has wealth and does not pay the dues of his wealth, but a baldheaded Shuja'a will be made to encircle his neck, and he will run away from the Book of Allah: 'And let not those who covetously withhold of that which Allah has bestowed on them of His Bounty (wealth)' think that it is good for them (and so they do not pay the obligatory Zakah). Nay, it will be worse for them; the things which they covetously withheld, shall be tied toothier necks like a collar on the Day of Resurrection."'

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَا مِنْ رَجُلٍ لَهُ مَالٌ لاَ يُؤَدِّي حَقَّ مَالِهِ إِلاَّ جُعِلَ لَهُ طَوْقًا فِي عُنُقِهِ شُجَاعٌ أَقْرَعُ وَهُوَ يَفِرُّ مِنْهُ وَهُوَ يَتْبَعُهُ ثُمَّ قَرَأَ مِصْدَاقَهُ مِنْ كِتَابِ اللَّهِ ﷻ { وَلاَ تَحْسَبَنَّ الَّذِينَ يَبْخَلُونَ بِمَا آتَاهُمُ اللَّهُ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ هُوَ خَيْرًا لَهُمْ بَلْ هُوَ شَرٌّ لَهُمْ سَيُطَوَّقُونَ مَا بَخِلُوا بِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ } الآيَةَ

the Messenger of Allah said: “There is no one who does not pay Zakat on his wealth but a bald headed snake will be made to appear to him on the Day of Resurrection, until it encircles his neck.” Then the messenger of Allah recited the following Verse from the Book of Allah the Most High: “And let not those who covetously withhold of that which Allah had bestowed on them of His Bounty(wealth) think that is good for them”

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ لاَ يُؤَدِّي زَكَاةَ مَالِهِ إِلاَّ مُثِّلَ لَهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ شُجَاعًا أَقْرَعَ حَتَّى يُطَوِّقَ عُنُقَهُ ثُمَّ قَرَأَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مِصْدَاقَهُ مِنْ كِتَابِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى (وَلاَ يَحْسَبَنَّ الَّذِينَ يَبْخَلُونَ بِمَا آتَاهُمُ اللَّهُ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ} الآيَةَ

[AI] Narrated by the Prophet ﷺ : "Whoever takes an oath by my right hand to acquire the property of a Muslim, he will meet Allah while He is angry with him." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited to us this statement as proof from the book of Allah, the Mighty and the Majestic, "Verily, those who exchange the covenant of Allah and their own oaths for a small price, they shall have no portion in the Hereafter, nor will Allah speak to them" (Surah Al-Imran, 3:77).

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ حَلَفَ عَلَى يَمِينٍيَقْتَطِعُ بِهَا مَالَ مُسْلِمٍ لَقِيَ اللهَ وَهُوَ عَلَيْهِ غَضْبَانُ وَقَرَأَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مِصْدَاقَهُ مِنْ كِتَابِ اللهِ ﷻ {إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَشْتَرُونَ بِعَهْدِ اللهِ وَأَيْمَانِهِمْ ثَمَنًا قَلِيلًا أُولَئِكَ لَا خَلَاقَ لَهُمْ فِي الْآخِرَةِ وَلَا يُكَلِّمُهُمُ اللهُ} [آل عمران 77]

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever takes a false oath to appropriate the property of a Muslim while he is still engaged in the act of sinning, he will meet Allah, Exalted and Glorious, while He is angry with him." He said, "This verse was revealed: 'Verily, those who purchase a small gain at the cost of the covenant of Allah and their oaths...' (Quran 3:77) until the end of the verse."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ حَلَفَ عَلَى يَمِينِ صَبْرٍ يَقْتَطِعُ بِهَا مَالَ امْرِئٍ مُسْلِمٍ وَهُوَ فِيهَا فَاجِرٌ لَقِيَ اللهَ ﷻ وَهُوَ عَلَيْهِ غَضْبَانُ قَالَ وَنَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ {إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَشْتَرُونَ بِعَهْدِ اللهِ وَأَيْمَانِهِمْ ثَمَنًا قَلِيلًا} [آل عمران 77] إِلَى آخِرِ الْآيَةِ

[AI] Narrated by the Prophet ﷺ , he said: "Whoever swears a false oath in order to wrongfully take someone's property, or accuses his brother, will meet Allah while He is angry with him. The confirmation of this is revealed in the Quran, 'Indeed, those who exchange the covenant of Allah and their [own] oaths for a small price - for them is no share in the Hereafter' (3:77) until 'a painful punishment' (3:77). Al-Ash'ath then met me and asked, 'What did Abdullah tell you today?' I said to him, 'He mentioned such and such.' Al-Ash'ath said, 'Indeed, it has been revealed about me.'"

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ مَنْ حَلَفَ عَلَى يَمِينٍ كَاذِبًا لِيَقْتَطِعَ بِهَا مَالَ رَجُلٍ أَوْ قَالَ أَخِيهِ لَقِيَ اللهَ وَهُوَ عَلَيْهِ غَضْبَانُ وَأُنْزِلَ تَصْدِيقُ ذَلِكَ فِي الْقُرْآنِ {إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَشْتَرُونَ بِعَهْدِ اللهِ وَأَيْمَانِهِمْ ثَمَنًا قَلِيلًا أُولَئِكَ لَا خَلَاقَ لَهُمْ فِي الْآخِرَةِ} [آل عمران 77] إِلَى {عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ} [آل عمران 77] قَالَ فَلَقِيَنِي الْأَشْعَثُ فَقَالَ مَا حَدَّثَكُمْ عَبْدُ اللهِ الْيَوْمَ؟ قَالَ قُلْتُ لَهُ كَذَا وَكَذَا قَالَ فِيَّ أُنْزِلَتْ

[AI] The Messenger of Allahﷺ said, "Whoever swears falsely by a pact of patience in order to usurp his brother's wealth, he will meet Allah while He is angry with him." This is because Allah says, "Indeed, those who exchange the covenant of Allah and their [own] oaths for a small price..." until the end of the verse.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَنْ حَلَفَ عَلَى يَمِينِ صَبْرٍ كَاذِبًا لِيَقْتَطِعَ بِهَا مَالَ أَخِيهِ لَقِيَ اللَّهَ وَهُوَ عَلَيْهِ غَضْبَانُ» وَذَلِكَ بِأَنَّ اللَّهَ يَقُولُ {إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَشْتَرُونَ بِعَهْدِ اللَّهِ وَأَيْمَانِهِمْ ثَمَنًا قَلِيلًا} إِلَى آخِرِ الْآيَةِ

قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ يَمُوتُ لَهُ مَالٌ لَا يُؤَدِّي زَكَاتَهُ إِلَّا جَعَلَ اللَّهُ لَهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ طَوْقًا فِي عُنُقِهِ شُجَاعٌ أَقْرَعُ فَهُوَ يَفِرُّ مِنْهُ وَهُوَ يَتْبَعُهُ ثُمَّ قَرَأَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مِصْدَاقَهُ فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ { لَا يَحْسَبَنَّ الَّذِينَ يَبْخَلُونَ بِمَا آتَاهُمُ اللَّهُ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ هُوَ خَيْرًا لَهُمْ بَلْ هُوَ شَرٌّ لَهُمْ سَيُطَوَّقُونَ مَا بَخِلُوا بِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ } وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لَا نَعْلَمُ رَوَاهُ عَنْ جَامِعِ بْنِ أَبِي رَاشِدٍ وَلَا عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ إِلَّا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَا مِنْ رَجُلٍ لَهُ مَالٌ لَا يُؤَدِّي حَقَّ مَالِهِ إِلَّا جَعَلَ لَهُ طَوْقًا فِي عُنُقِهِ شُجَاعًا أَقْرَعَ فَهُوَ يَقْدُمُهُ وَهُوَ يَتْبَعُهُ» ثُمَّ قَرَأَ مِصْدَاقَهُ مِنْ كِتَابِ اللهِ {وَلَا يَحْسَبَنَّ الَّذِينَ يَبْخَلُونَ بِمَا آتَاهُمُ اللهُ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ هُوَ خَيْرًا لَهُمْ بَلْ هُوَ شَرٌّ لَهُمْ سَيُطَوَّقُونَ} [آل عمران 180] الْآيَةَ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said, "There is no man who has wealth and does not give the rights of his wealth except that a collar will be placed on his neck on the Day of Judgment, where he will be a bold, barking dog fleeing from it while it follows him." Then he recited a verse from the Book of Allah, "And let not those who [greedily] withhold what Allah has given them" (Al Imran 3:180) until the end of the verse "on the Day of Resurrection." (Al Imran 3:180)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَا مِنْ رَجُلٍ لَهُ مَالٌ لَا يُؤَدِّي حَقَّ مَالِهِ إِلَّا جُعِلَ لَهُ طَوْقًا فِي عُنُقِهِ شُجَاعٌ أَقْرَعُ فَهُوَ يَفِرُّ مِنْهُ وَهُو يَتْبَعُهُ» قَالَ ثُمَّ قَرَأَ مِصْدَاقَهُ مِنْ كِتَابِ اللهِ {وَلَا يَحْسِبَنَّ الَّذِينَ يَبْخَلُونَ} [آل عمران 180] إِلَى قَوْلِهِ {يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ} [آل عمران 180]

[AI] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said: "Whoever is given wealth by Allah and does not give its due Zakah, it will be turned into a bald snake for him on the Day of Resurrection. It will be coiled around his neck and he will be held captive by its fangs. Then it will say, 'I am your treasure, I am your wealth.' Then, the verse will be recited to him: 'And do not think that those who are miserly regarding what Allah has granted them of His bounty, that it is better for them. Rather, it is worse for them. They will be encircled by what they were miserly with, on the Day of Resurrection.'"

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ آتَاهُ اللهُ مَالًا فَلَمْ يُؤَدِّ زَكَاتَهُ مُثِّلَ لَهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ شُجَاعًا أَقْرَعَ لَهُ زَبِيبَتَانِ يُطَوَّقُهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ثُمَّ يَأْخُذُ بِلِهْزِمَتَيْهِ يَعْنِي شِدْقَيْهِ ثُمَّ يَقُولُ أَنَا مَالُكَ أَنَا كَنْزُكَ ثُمَّ تَلَا هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ {وَلَا تَحْسَبَنَّ الَّذِينَ يَبْخَلُونَ بِمَا آتَاهُمُ اللهُ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ هُوَ خَيْرًا لَهُمْ بَلْ هُوَ شَرٌّ لَهُمْ سَيُطَوَّقُونَ مَا بَخِلُوا بِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ}

[AI] The Messenger of Allah said, "Whoever unjustly takes the wealth of a Muslim by false oath, he will meet Allah while He is angry with him." Abdullah then recited to us a verse from the Book of Allah, "Indeed, those who exchange the covenant of Allah and their [own] oaths for a small price..." (Quran 3:77)
