[Machine] There were two villages, one righteous and the other unjust. A man from the unjust village came out, intending to go to the righteous village, but death came to him wherever Allah willed. The angel and the devil disputed over him. The devil said, "By Allah, he never disobeyed me." The angel said, "Indeed, he has left with the intention of repentance." It was settled between them that they would look at which village was closer. They found that he was closer to the righteous village by a span, so he was forgiven. Ma'mar said, "I heard someone say, 'Allah has brought him close to the righteous village.'"
