A woman who harassed the Prophet ﷺ about his humble demeanor

tabarani:7812Ḥafṣ b. ʿUmar b. al-Ṣabbāḥ al-Raqqī > Abū Ghassān Mālik b. Ismāʿīl > ʿAbd al-Salām b. Ḥarb > Abū al-Muhallab Muṭṭariḥ b. Yazīd > ʿUbaydullāh b. Zaḥr > ʿAlī b. Yazīd > al-Qāsim > Abū Umāmah

A woman used to harass men and used to be obscene about it. Once she walked by the Prophet ﷺ while he was eating tharīd (sopped bread, meat, and broth) on two fresh leaves. She said: Look all of you at this man sitting like servants sits and eating like servants eats. Then the Prophet ﷺ said, “Which servant shows more servitude than me?” She continued: And he eats but he doesn’t feed me. He said, “Eat.” She said: Give it to me with your hand. He gave it to her. She said: Give me what’s in your mouth. He gave it to her. She ate it then shyness overcame her and she didn’t harass anyone until she died.
