[Machine] While the Prophet ﷺ was in his chamber, combing his beard with a comb, a man came and looked through a hole in the chamber. The Prophet ﷺ saw him and said, "If I had known that you were watching, I would have poked your eye with this comb. Permission was only granted for the sake of sight." Abu Salama narrated this from Sufyan, who is Muhammad bin Abi Hafsah.
بَيْنَمَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فِي حُجْرَتِهِ مَعَهُ مِدْرًى يُسَرِّحُ بِهِ لِحْيَتَهُ إِذْ جَاءَ إِنْسَانٌ فَاطَّلَعَ مِنْ جُحْرٍ فِي حُجْرَتِهِ فَأَبْصَرَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَقَالَ «لَوْ أَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ تَنْتَظِرُنِي لَفَقَأْتُ بِهَذَا الْمِدْرَى عَيْنَكَ إِنَّمَا جُعِلَ الْإِذْنُ مِنْ أَجْلِ الْبَصَرِ» أَبُو سَلَمَةَ هَذَا رَوَى عَنْهُ سُفْيَانُ هُوَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي حَفْصَةَ
