مَنْ يُكَنَّى أَبَا السَّمْحِ أَبُو السَّمْحِ خَادِمُ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ

I used to serve the Prophet ﷺ. Whenever he intended to wash himself, he would say: Turn your back towards me, So I would turn my back and hide him. (Once) Hasan or Husayn (may Allah be pleased with them) was brought to him and he passed water on his chest. I came to wash it. He said: It is only the urine of a female which should be washed; the urine of a male should be sprinkled over. 'Abbas (a narrator) said: Yahya b. al-Walid narrated the tradition to us. Abu Dawud said: He (Yahya) is Abu al-Za'ra'. Harun b. Tamim said on the authority of al-Hasan: All sorts of urine are equal.

كُنْتُ أَخْدُمُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَكَانَ إِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَغْتَسِلَ قَالَ وَلِّنِي قَفَاكَ فَأُوَلِّيهِ قَفَاىَ فَأَسْتُرُهُ بِهِ فَأُتِيَ بِحَسَنٍ أَوْ حُسَيْنٍ ؓ فَبَالَ عَلَى صَدْرِهِ فَجِئْتُ أَغْسِلُهُ فَقَالَ يُغْسَلُ مِنْ بَوْلِ الْجَارِيَةِ وَيُرَشُّ مِنْ بَوْلِ الْغُلاَمِ قَالَ عَبَّاسٌ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ

"I was a servant of the Prophet, and Hasan and Husain was brought to him and (the infant) urinated on his chest. They wanted to wash it, but the Messenger of Allah said: 'Sprinkle water on it, for the urine of a girl should be washed, but the urine of a boy should be sprinkled over with water.'"

كُنْتُ خَادِمَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَجِيءَ بِالْحَسَنِ أَوِ الْحُسَيْنِ فَبَالَ عَلَى صَدْرِهِ فَأَرَادُوا أَنْ يَغْسِلُوهُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ رُشَّهُ فَإِنَّهُ يُغْسَلُ بَوْلُ الْجَارِيَةِ وَيُرَشُّ عَلَى بَوْلِ الْغُلاَمِ

[Machine] I used to serve the Prophet ﷺ , so whenever he wanted to perform ablution, he would say, "Bring me my qutwa (a container for water) so that I may pour water over my body." Then I would bring it to him and cover him with a cloth. Then he would call for Hasan or Husain (his grandsons), and they would sit on his lap. I would then wash him while he said, "Wash him from the urine of the little girl and sprinkle him with the urine of the little boy." Abu Dawood said, "This refers to Abu al-Zar'a, which means Yahya bin al-Walid. Ahmad bin Hanbal narrated this from Abdur Rahman bin Mahdi, and he said in the Hadith, "Sprinkle him with urine."

كُنْتُ أَخْدُمُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَكَانَ إِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَغْتَسِلَ قَالَ وَلِّنِي قَفَاكَ فَأُوَلِّيهِ قَفَائِي فَأَسْتُرُهُ فَأُتِيَ بِحَسَنٍ أَوْ حُسَيْنٍ فَبَالَ عَلَى صَدْرِهِ فَجِئْتُ أَغْسِلُهُ فَقَالَ يُغْسَلُ مِنْ بَوْلِ الْجَارِيَةِ وَيُرَشُّ مِنْ بَوْلِ الْغُلَامِ قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ وَهُوَ أَبُو الزَّعْرَاءِ يَعْنِي يَحْيَى بْنَ الْوَلِيدِ وَرَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مَهْدِيٍّ وَقَالَ فِي الْحَدِيثِ فَقَالَ رُشُّوهُ رَشًّا فَإِنَّهُ يُغْسَلُ بَوْلُ الْجَارِيَةِ وَيُرَشُّ بَوْلُ الْغُلَامِ
