[Machine] He used to send a guard from his guards to me, who would bring me bread and milk. They used to say, "This is the day of Ashura, and the Prophet ﷺ used to fast it, and we are fasting. So whoever wants to fast, let them fast."  

الطبراني:١٧٠١٣حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الدِّمَشْقِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ الصُّورِيُّ ثنا خَالِدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ بْنِ صُبَيْحٍ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ

أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَبْعَثُ حَرَسًا مِنْ حَرَسِهِ إِلَيَّ كَنَاكِرُونَ كُبَّةٍ وَقَرُوا يَقُولُ «إِنَّ هَذَا يَوْمَ عَاشُورَاءَ وَكَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَصُومُهُ وَنَحْنُ صَائِمُونَ فَمَنْ أَحَبَّ أَنْ يَصُومَهُ فَلْيَصُمْهُ»
