[Machine] "And his father Kaab was the leader when he lost his sight. He said, 'I heard my father Kaab narrating his story when he was left behind by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ during the Battle of Tabuk. And the story of his two companions, he said, 'I never missed accompanying the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in any battle other than the Battle of Badr, and neither Allah nor His Messenger blamed anyone who missed it. This is because the Messenger of Allah ﷺ only intended to attack the caravan of the Quraysh until Allah brought him together with his enemy unexpectedly."  

وَكَانَ قَائِدَ أَبِيهِ كَعْبٍ حِينَ أُصِيبَ بِبَصَرِهِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبِي كَعْبًا يُحَدِّثُ حَدِيثَهُ حِينَ تَخَلَّفَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكٍ وَحَدِيثَ صَاحِبَيْهِ قَالَ مَا تَخَلَّفْتُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي غَزْوَةٍ غَيْرَهَا قَطُّ غَيْرَ أَنِّي قَدْ كُنْتُ قَدْ تَخَلَّفْتُ عَنْهُ فِي غَزْوَةِ بَدْرٍ وَلَمْ يُعَاتِبِ اللهُ وَلَا رَسُولُهُ أَحَدًا تَخَلَّفَ عَنْهَا وَذَلِكَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّمَا خَرَجَ يُرِيدُ عِيرَ قُرَيْشٍ حَتَّى جَمَعَ اللهُ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ عَدُوِّهِ عَلَى غَيْرِ مِيعَادٍ
