السيوطي:٨٣٨٥a –

"إِنَّ اسْتَعْمَلتُ عَلَيكمْ رَجُلًا فَأَمَرَكمْ بطَاعَة اللَّه فَعَصَيْتُمُوهُ كَانَ مَعْصيَتُهُ مَعْصيَتِى، ومَعْصيَتى مَعْصيَةُ اللَّهِ وَإِنْ أَمَرَكمْ بمَعْصيَة اللَّه فَأَطَعْتُمُوهُ كَانَتْ لكم الحُجَّةُ عَلَىَّ يوم القيَامة وَلَكنْ أَكِلكُمْ إِلَى اللَّه ﷻ" .  

"الخطيب وابن عساكر عن ابن عباس قال: قالوا يا رسول اللَّه استخلف علينا بعدك رجلا قال: فذكره"
