"عَنْ سُلَيْمانَ بْنِ عَبْد الله، عَنْ مَعَاذَةَ الْعَدَوِيَّةِ قَالَتْ: سَمِعْتُ عَلِيًا وَهُو يَخْطُبُ عَلَى مِنْبَرِ الْبَصْرَةِ يَقُولُ: أَنَا الصِّديقُ الأَكْبَرُ؛ آمَنْتُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُؤْمِنَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ، وَأَسْلَمْتُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُسْلِمَ".
