"عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ بْنِ خَالدٍ قَالَ: دَخَلَ ابْنٌ لِعُمَرَ (*) بْنِ الخَطَّابِ عَلَيْهِ وَقَدْ تَرَجَّل وَلَبِسَ ثِيَابًا حِسَانًا فَضَرَبَهُ عُمَرُ بِالدِّرَّةِ حَتَّى أَبْكَاهُ، فَقَالَتْ لَهُ حَفْصَةُ: لِمَ ضَرَبْتَهُ؟ قَالَ: رَأَيْتُهُ قَدْ أَعجَبَتْهُ نَفْسُهُ فَأَحْبَبْتُ أَنْ أُصَغِّرَهَا إِلَيْهِ".
