"عَنْ إبراهيم أن الزبيرَ وعليّا اختصما في موالى لِصَفِيَّة إلى عمر بن الخطاب، فقال على: مولى عمتى وأنا أعقِل عنه، وقال الزبير: مولى أَبى وأنا أرثه، فقضى بالميراثِ للزبير والعقل على علىٍّ".

"عَن الْحَكَمِ بْنِ عُتْبَة قَالَ: اخْتَصَمَ عَلِىٌّ والزُّبَيْرُ إِلَى عُمَرَ فِى مَوْلَى صَفِيَّةَ، فَقَالَ عَلِىٌّ: عَمَّتِى، وَأنَا أَعْقِلُ عَنْهَا وَأَرِثُهَا، وَقَالَ الزُّبَيْرُ: أُمِّى وَأَنَا أَرِثُهَا، فَقَالَ عُمَرُ لِعَلِىًّ: أَمَا علِمْتَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ جَعَلَ الولاءَ تَبَعًا لِلميرَاثِ فَقَضَى بِه للِزُّبَيْرِ".
