I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, “Command me with something that I may take from you.” He said, “Stick to fasting, for there is nothing like it.”
أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقُلْتُ مُرْنِي بِأَمْرٍ آخُذُهُ عَنْكَ قَالَ: «عَلَيْكَ بِالصَّوْمِ فَإِنَّهُ لاَ مِثْلَ لَهُ»

"Abu Umamah Al-Bahili narrated to me: 'I said: O Messenger of Allah, tell me of something by which Allah will benefic me. He said: Take to fasting, for there is nothing like it."'
قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مُرْنِي بِأَمْرٍ يَنْفَعُنِي اللَّهُ بِهِ قَالَ عَلَيْكَ بِالصِّيَامِ فَإِنَّهُ لاَ مِثْلَ لَهُ
"Raja bin Haiwah narrated that Abu Umamah said: 'I came to the Messenger of Allah and said: Tel l me of something that I may take (learn) from you. He said: "Take to fasting, for there is nothing like it."' ' (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2220)
