"Umm 'Atiyyah would never mention the Messenger of Allah ﷺ without saying: 'May my father be ransomed for him.' I said: 'Did you hear the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say such-and-such?' And she said: 'Yes, may my father be ransomed for him.' He said: Let the adolescent girls, women in seclusion and menstruating women come out and attend the 'Eid and supplications of the Muslims, but let the menstruating women keep away from the prayer place."  

كَانَتْ أُمُّ عَطِيَّةَ لاَ تَذْكُرُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِلاَّ قَالَتْ بِأَبَا فَقُلْتُ أَسَمِعْتِ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَذْكُرُ كَذَا وَكَذَا فَقَالَتْ نَعَمْ بِأَبَا قَالَ لِيَخْرُجِ الْعَوَاتِقُ وَذَوَاتُ الْخُدُورِ وَالْحُيَّضُ وَيَشْهَدْنَ الْعِيدَ وَدَعْوَةَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَلْيَعْتَزِلِ الْحُيَّضُ الْمُصَلَّى  

"Umm 'Atiyah would never mention the Messenger of Allah ﷺ without saying: 'May my father be ransomed for him.' I said: 'Did you hear the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say such and such?' كَانَتْ أُمُّ عَطِيَّةَ لَا تَذْكُرُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَبَدًا إِلَّا قَالَتْ بِأَبَا فَقُلْتُ أَسَمِعْتِ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «كَذَا وَكَذَا؟» قَالَتْ نَعَمْ بِأَبَا قَالَ «لِتَخْرُجِ الْعَوَاتِقُ ذَوَاتُ الْخُدُورِ وَالْحُيَّضُ فَيَشْهَدْنَ الْخَيْرَ وَدَعْوَةَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَيَعْتَزِلْنَ الْحُيَّضُ الْمُصَلَّى» مُخْتَصَرٌ  

"I met Umm 'Atiyyah and said to her: 'Did you hear the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say (anything)?' When she mentioned him, she would say: 'May my father be ransomed for him.' (He said) 'Bring out the adolescent girls and the women in seclusion and let them witness goodness and the supplication of the Muslims, but let the menstruating women keep away from the place where the people pray.'" سَمِعْتِ مِنَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ؟ وَكَانَتْ إِذَا ذَكَرَتْهُ قَالَتْ بِأَبَا فَقَالَتْ بِأَبَا قَالَ «أَخْرِجُوا الْعَوَاتِقَ وَذَوَاتَ الْخُدُورِ فَيَشْهَدْنَ الْعِيدَ وَدَعْوَةَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَيَعْتَزِلُ الْحُيَّضُ مُصَلَّى النَّاسِ»
