"The wife of Rifa'ah came to the Messenger of Allah and said: 'My husband divorced me and made it irrevocable. After that I married 'Abdur-Rahman bin Az-Zabir and what he has is like the fringe of a garment.' The Messenger of Allah smiled and said: 'Perhaps you want to go back to Rifa'ah? No, not until he tastes your sweetness and you taste his sweetness.'"  

جَاءَتِ امْرَأَةُ رِفَاعَةَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ إِنَّ زَوْجِي طَلَّقَنِي فَأَبَتَّ طَلاَقِي وَإِنِّي تَزَوَّجْتُ بَعْدَهُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ الزَّبِيرِ وَمَا مَعَهُ إِلاَّ مِثْلَ هُدْبَةِ الثَّوْبِ فَضَحِكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَقَالَ لَعَلَّكِ تُرِيدِينَ أَنْ تَرْجِعِي إِلَى رِفَاعَةَ لاَ حَتَّى يَذُوقَ عُسَيْلَتَكِ وَتَذُوقِي عُسَيْلَتَهُ  

"Is she permissible for the first (husband to remarry her)?" He said: "No, not until he tastes her sweetness as the first tasted her sweetness."  

أَنَّ رَجُلاً طَلَّقَ امْرَأَتَهُ ثَلاَثًا فَتَزَوَّجَتْ زَوْجًا فَطَلَّقَهَا قَبْلَ أَنْ يَمَسَّهَا فَسُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَتَحِلُّ لِلأَوَّلِ فَقَالَ لاَ حَتَّى يَذُوقَ عُسَيْلَتَهَا كَمَا ذَاقَ الأَوَّلُ  

"O Messenger of Allah, she is lying; he is having intercourse with her, but she wants to go back to her first husband." The Messenger of Allah said: "She cannot do that until she tastes his sweetness."  

أَنَّ الْغُمَيْصَاءَ أَوِ الرُّمَيْصَاءَ أَتَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ تَشْتَكِي زَوْجَهَا أَنَّهُ لاَ يَصِلُ إِلَيْهَا فَلَمْ يَلْبَثْ أَنْ جَاءَ زَوْجُهَا فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ هِيَ كَاذِبَةٌ وَهُوَ يَصِلُ إِلَيْهَا وَلَكِنَّهَا تُرِيدُ أَنْ تَرْجِعَ إِلَى زَوْجِهَا الأَوَّلِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لَيْسَ ذَلِكَ حَتَّى تَذُوقِي عُسَيْلَتَهُ  

"No, not until she tastes his sweetness."  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي الرَّجُلِ تَكُونُ لَهُ الْمَرْأَةُ يُطَلِّقُهَا ثُمَّ يَتَزَوَّجُهَا رَجُلٌ آخَرُ فَيُطَلِّقُهَا قَبْلَ أَنْ يَدْخُلَ بِهَا فَتَرْجِعَ إِلَى زَوْجِهَا الأَوَّلِ قَالَ لاَ حَتَّى تَذُوقَ الْعُسَيْلَةَ  

"The Prophet was asked about a man who divorced his wife three times, then another man married her and he closed the door and drew the curtain, then divorced her before consummating the marriage with her. He said: "She is not permissible for the first one (to remarry her) until the second one has had intercourse with her.""  

سُئِلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يُطَلِّقُ امْرَأَتَهُ ثَلاَثًا فَيَتَزَوَّجُهَا الرَّجُلُ فَيُغْلِقُ الْبَابَ وَيُرْخِي السِّتْرَ ثُمَّ يُطَلِّقُهَا قَبْلَ أَنْ يَدْخُلَ بِهَا قَالَ لاَ تَحِلُّ لِلأَوَّلِ حَتَّى يُجَامِعَهَا الآخَرُ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ هَذَا أَوْلَى بِالصَّوَابِ
