nasai-kubra:8892 – Muḥammad b. ʿAbd al-Aʿlá > al-Muʿtamir from my father > Abū Naḍrah > Jābir b. ʿAbdullāh

[Machine] We were walking with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and he asked me, "Did you get married after your father?" I said, "Yes." He asked, "Did you marry Ayyub or Bakr?" I said, "Ayyub." He said, "Why didn't you marry Bakr? She would make you laugh and you would make her laugh, and she would play with you and you would play with her."  

الكبرى للنسائي:٨٨٩٢ – أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْمُعْتَمِرُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبِي قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نَضْرَةَ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ

كُنَّا نَسِيرُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ لِي «أَتَزَوَّجْتَ بَعْدَ أَبِيكَ؟» قُلْتُ نَعَمْ قَالَ «أَثَيِّبًا أَمْ بِكْرًا؟» قُلْتُ ثَيِّبًا قَالَ «فَهَلَّا تَزَوَّجْتَ بِكْرًا تُضَاحِكُكَ وَتُضَاحِكُهَا وَتُلَاعِبُكَ وَتُلَاعِبُهَا»

It was narrated that Jabir said: "I got married then I came to the Prophet and he said: 'Have you got married, O Jabir?' I said: 'Yes.' He said: 'To a virgin or to a previously married woman?' I said: 'To a previously married woman.' He said: 'Why not a virgin, so you could play with her and she could play with you?'"

Jabir bin ‘Abd Allah said “The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ said to me “Did you marry?” I said “Yes”. He again said “Virgin or Non Virgin (woman previously married)?” I said “Non Virgin”. He said “Why (did you) not (marry) a virgin with whom you could sport and she could sport with you.
