[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ ordered him to recite (the Quran) in forty (days), then in a month, then in twenty (days), then in fifteen, then in ten, then in seven. He said, "He stopped at seven."

الكبرى للنسائي:٨٠١٥ – أَخْبَرَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ حِسَابٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ ثَوْرٍ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ الْفَضْلِ عَنْ وَهْبِ بْنِ مُنَبِّهٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ حَدَّثَ بِحَدِيثِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو قَالَ

أَمَرَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «أَنْ يَقْرَأَ فِي أَرْبَعِينَ ثُمَّ فِي شَهْرٍ ثُمَّ فِي عِشْرِينَ ثُمَّ فِي خَمْسَةَ عَشَرَ وَفِي عَشْرٍ ثُمَّ فِي سَبْعٍ» قَالَ «انْتَهَى إِلَى سَبْعٍ»
