[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about fasting on the day of Arafa. He said, "It expiates the sins of the previous year and the upcoming year." Abu Abdur-Rahman said, "This is the best hadith I have regarding this matter, and Allah knows best."  

الكبرى للنسائي:٢٨٢٦أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ غَيْلَانَ بْنِ جَرِيرٍ سَمِعَ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ مَعْبَدٍ عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ سُئِلَ عَنْ صَوْمِ يَوْمِ عَرَفَةَ قَالَ «يُكَفِّرُ السَّنَةَ الْمَاضِيَةَ وَالْبَاقِيَةَ» قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ هَذَا أَجْوَدُ حَدِيثٍ عِنْدِي فِي هَذَا الْبَابِ وَاللهُ أَعْلَمُ
