قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {لَا تَحْسَبَنَّ الَّذِينَ يَفْرَحُونَ بِمَا أَتَوْا} [آل عمران: 188]

[Machine] Ibn Abbas asked them about something the Prophet ﷺ had asked them about, but they concealed it and informed him about something else. They left and it was shown to him that they informed him about what he asked them about and they praised themselves for it and they were happy about what they concealed from him about it.  

الكبرى للنسائي:١١٠٢٠ – أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ قَالَ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَنَا وَأَخْبَرَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ أَنَّ حُمَيْدَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ مَرْوَانَ قَالَ اذْهَبْ يَا رَافِعُ لِبَوَّابِهِ إِلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فَقُلْ لَئِنْ كَانَ كُلُّ امْرِئٍ مِنَّا فَرِحَ بِمَا أَتَى وَأَحَبَّ أَنْ يُحْمَدَ بِمَا لَمْ يَفْعَلْ مُعَذَّبًا لَنُعَذَّبَنَّ أَجْمَعُونَ فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ مَالَكُمْ وَلِهَذِهِ الْآيَةِ إِنَّمَا نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ فِي أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ ثُمَّ تَلَا ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ {§وَإِذْ أَخَذَ اللهُ مِيثَاقَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ لَتُبَيِّنُنَّهُ لِلنَّاسِ} [آل عمران 187] تَلَا ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ {لَا تَحْسَبَنَّ الَّذِينَ يَفْرَحُونَ بِمَا أَتَوْا وَيُحِبُّونَ أَنْ يُحْمَدُوا بِمَا لَمْ يَفْعَلُوا} [آل عمران 188] قَالَ

ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ سَأَلَهُمُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَنْ شَيْءٍ فَكَتَمُوهُ وَأَخْبَرُوهُ بِغَيْرِهِ فَخَرَجُوا وَقَدْ أَرُوهُ أَنَّهُمْ أَخْبَرُوهُ بِمَا سَأَلَهُمْ عَنْهُ وَاسْتَحْمَدُوا بِذَلِكَ إِلَيْهِ وَفَرِحُوا بِمَا أَتَوْ مِنْ كِتْمَانِهِمْ إِيَّاهُ مَا سَأَلَهُمْ عَنْهُ

[Machine] The verse was revealed concerning the people of the Book, when the Prophet ﷺ asked them about something, and they concealed it. Then, they came to him and he asked them again, and they informed him about something else. So, they realized that they had already informed him about what he had asked them, and they praised themselves for their secrecy and rejoiced in what they had kept hidden from him of what he had asked them.  

الحاكم:٣١٧١ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو زَكَرِيَّا يَحْيَى بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْعَنْبَرِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ السَّلَامِ ثنا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ أَنْبَأَ رَوْحُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ جُرَيْجٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ أَنَّ حُمَيْدَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ مَرْوَانَ بَعَثَ إِلَى ابنِ عَبَّاسٍ وَاللَّهِ لَئِنْ كَانَ كُلُّ امْرِئٍ مِنَّا إِنْ فَرِحَ بِمَا أُوتِيَ وَحُمِدَ بِمَا لَمْ يَفْعَلْ عُذِّبَ لَنُعَذَّبَنَّ جَمِيعًا فَقَالَ

ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ إِنَّمَا نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ فِي أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ أَتَاهُ الْيَهُودُ «فَسَأَلَهُمُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَنْ شَيْءٍ فَكَتَمُوهُ ثُمَّ أَتَوْهُ فَسَأَلَهُمْ فَأَخْبَرُوهُ بِغَيْرِ ذَلِكَ فَخَرَجُوا وَرَأَوْا أَنْ قَدْ أَخْبَرُوهُ بِمَا سَأَلَهُمْ عَنْهُ وَاسْتَحْمَدُوا بِذَلِكَ وَفَرِحُوا بِمَا أُوتُوا مِنْ كِتْمَانِهِمْ إِيَّاهُ مِمَّا سَأَلَهُمْ عَنْهُ»  

هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخْرِجَاهُ صحيح
