“I bowed (in prayer) beside my father, and I put my hands between my knees. He struck my hand and said: ‘We used to do that, then we were commanded to put them on the knees.’”  

رَكَعْتُ إِلَى جَنْبِ أَبِي فَطَبَّقْتُ فَضَرَبَ يَدِي وَقَالَ قَدْ كُنَّا نَفْعَلُ هَذَا ثُمَّ أُمِرْنَا أَنْ نَرْفَعَ إِلَى الرُّكَبِ  

[Machine] I used to pray by the side of my father, and when I went into the bowing position, I said "like this" and he placed his hands between his knees. Then, after finishing the prayer, he said, "We used to do this, but then we were ordered to raise our hands up to the shoulders."  

كُنْتُ أُصَلِّي إِلَى جَنْبِ أَبِي فَلَمَّا رَكَعْتُ قُلْتُ كَذَا وَطَبَّقَ يَدَيْهِ بَيْنَ رِجْلَيْهِ فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ قَالَ كُنَّا نَفْعَلُ هَذَا ثُمَّ أُمِرْنَا أَنْ نَرْفَعَ إِلَى الرُّكَبِ
