You have made us equal to the dogs and the asses, whereas I lay on the bedstead and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came there and stood in the middle of the bedstead and said prayer. I did not like to take off the quilt from me (in that state), so I moved away quietly from the front legs of the bedstead and thus came out of the quilt.

Do you make us (women) equal to dogs and donkeys? While I used to lie in my bed, the Prophet ﷺ would come and pray facing the middle of the bed. I used to consider it not good to stand in front of him in his prayers. So I used to slip away slowly and quietly from the foot of the bed till I got out of my guilt.

ahmad:26302ʿAbīdah > Manṣūr > Ibrāhīm > al-Aswad > ʿĀʾishah

[Machine] You have compared us to dogs and donkeys, whereas the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to place his prayer mat at the side of the bed, and I am in the corner of the blanket. I dislike disturbing him, so I slip away from his feet.

bayhaqi:3499[Chain 1] Abū ʿAbdullāh al-Ḥāfiẓ > Abū ʿAbdullāh Muḥammad b. Yaʿqūb al-Ḥāfiẓ > ʿImrān b. Mūsá > ʿUthmān b. Abū Shaybah > Jarīr [Chain 2] Abū Ṣāliḥ b. Abū Ṭāhir > Jaddī Yaḥyá b. Manṣūr al-Qāḍī > Aḥmad b. Salamah > Isḥāq

[Machine] Did you all compare us to dogs and donkeys? I saw myself lying on the bed, then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came and sat on the bed and prayed. I disliked moving so that I wouldn't disturb him, so I slid away from one side of the bed, until I slipped from under the quilt.
