his hadith has been transmitted on the authority of Shu'ba with a slight variation of wording.  

مسلم:٣٠٠٠cوَحَدَّثَنِيهِ عَمْرٌو النَّاقِدُ حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ ح وَحَدَّثَنَاهُ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا شَبَابَةُ بْنُ سَوَّارٍ كِلاَهُمَا عَنْ شُعْبَةَ بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ نَحْوَ حَدِيثِ يَزِيدَ بْنِ زُرَيْعٍ وَلَيْسَ فِي حَدِيثِهِمَا فَقَالَ

رَجُلٌ مَا مِنْ رَجُلٍ بَعْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَفْضَلُ مِنْهُ
