This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Ibn Ka'b through another chain of transmitters but with " "the similitude of the disbeliever is that of a cypress tree".  

مسلم:٢٨١٠d – وَحَدَّثَنَاهُ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ هَاشِمٍ قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى وَهُوَ الْقَطَّانُ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ ابْنُ هَاشِمٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ وَقَالَ ابْنُ بَشَّارٍ عَنِ ابْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ بِنَحْوِ حَدِيثِهِمْ وَقَالاَ جَمِيعًا فِي حَدِيثِهِمَا عَنْ يَحْيَى وَمَثَلُ الْكَافِرِ مَثَلُ الأَرْزَةِ
