Pursue this snake and kill it. Abu Lubaba Ansari said: I heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He forbade the killing of snakes found in the houses except the short-tailed snakes and those having streaks upon them, for both of them obliterate eyesight and affect that which is in the wombs of (pregnant) women.

مسلم:٢٢٣٣i – وَحَدَّثَنِي إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَهْضَمٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ وَهُوَ عِنْدَنَا ابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ نَافِعٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ كَانَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ يَوْمًا عِنْدَ هَدْمٍ لَهُ فَرَأَى وَبِيصَ جَانٍّ فَقَالَ اتَّبِعُوا هَذَا الْجَانَّ فَاقْتُلُوهُ قَالَ أَبُو لُبَابَةَ الأَنْصَارِيُّ إِنِّي

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنْ قَتْلِ الْجِنَّانِ الَّتِي تَكُونُ فِي الْبُيُوتِ إِلاَّ الأَبْتَرَ وَذَا الطُّفْيَتَيْنِ فَإِنَّهُمَا اللَّذَانِ يَخْطِفَانِ الْبَصَرَ وَيَتَتَبَّعَانِ مَا فِي بُطُونِ النِّسَاءِ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited killing the jinnan(small snakes) that are in the house, except the one which have two streaks and the one with small tail, for they obliterate the eyesight and cause miscarriage.

أبو داود:٥٢٥٣ – حَدَّثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنْ أَبِي لُبَابَةَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنْ قَتْلِ الْجِنَّانِ الَّتِي تَكُونُ فِي الْبُيُوتِ إِلاَّ أَنْ يَكُونَ ذَا الطُّفْيَتَيْنِ وَالأَبْتَرَ فَإِنَّهُمَا يَخْطِفَانِ الْبَصَرَ وَيَطْرَحَانِ مَا فِي بُطُونِ النِّسَاءِ

malik:54-32 – Mālik > Nāfiʿ > Sāʾibah Mawlāh Liʿāʾishah

Malik related to me from Nafi from Sa'iba, the female mawla of A'isha, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade killing the snakes which were in the houses except those with two white stripes on their back and the short ones. They made one go blind and caused miscarriages in women.

مالك:٥٤-٣٢ – وَحَدَّثَنِي مَالِكٌ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنْ سَائِبَةَ مَوْلاَةٍ لِعَائِشَةَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنْ قَتْلِ الْجِنَّانِ الَّتِي فِي الْبُيُوتِ إِلاَّ ذَا الطُّفْيَتَيْنِ وَالأَبْتَرَ فَإِنَّهُمَا يَخْطِفَانِ الْبَصَرَ وَيَطْرَحَانِ مَا فِي بُطُونِ النِّسَاءِ
