When there was any bereavement in her family the women gathered there for condolence and they departed except the members of the family and some selected persons. She asked to prepare talbina in a small couldron and it was cooked and then tharid was prepared and it was poured over talbina, then she said: Eat it, for I heard Messenger of Allah (may peade be upon him) as saying: Talbina gives comfort to the aggrieved heart and it lessens grief.

(the wife of the Prophet) that whenever one of her relatives died, the women assembled and then dispersed (returned to their houses) except her relatives and close friends. She would order that a pot of Talbina be cooked. Then Tharid (a dish prepared from meat and bread) would be prepared and the Talbina would be poured on it. ʿAisha would say (to the women),"Eat of it, for I heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'The Talbina soothes the heart of the patient and relieves him from some of his sadness.' "

[Machine] "When someone from her family was afflicted, the women of the community would separate from her, and only the women from her specific family would stay with her. She would be ordered to cook a broth made from barley, which would then be poured over tharid (a type of bread). She would be told to eat from it, for I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say that tharid is a remedy for the heart of the sick and takes away some sorrow."
