Yahya related to me from Malik that he had heard that AIi ibn Husain used to say, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would join dhuhr and asr if he wished to travel the same day, and he would join maghrib and isha if he wished to travel the same night."  

مالك:٩-٨وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ أَنَّهُ بَلَغَهُ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ حُسَيْنٍ

أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَسِيرَ يَوْمَهُ جَمَعَ بَيْنَ الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ وَإِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَسِيرَ لَيْلَهُ جَمَعَ بَيْنَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ

Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to offer the Zuhr and ʿAsr prayers together on journeys, and also used to offer the Maghrib and ʿIsha' prayers together. Narrated Anas bin Malik: The Prophet ﷺ used to offer the Maghrib and the ʿIsha' prayers together on journeys.

[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would combine Dhuhr and Asr prayers while traveling, when he was on the back of his mount. And he would also combine Maghrib and Isha prayers.

أَخْرَجَهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ فِي الصَّحِيحِ فَقَالَ وَقَالَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ طَهْمَانَ فَذَكَرَهُ وَرَوَى أَيُّوبُ عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ لَا يَعْلَمُهُ إِلَّا مَرْفُوعًا بِمَعْنَى رِوَايَةِ حُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ
