Yahya related to me from Malik from Rabia ibn Abi Abd ar-Rahman that Abdullah ibn az-Zubayr allowed retaliation for a head wound which splintered the bone.  

مالك:٤٣-٢٠ – وَحَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ

أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ أَقَادَ مِنَ الْمُنَقَّلَةِ

البيهقي:١٩١٣ – وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ ثنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ثنا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ ثنا سُفْيَانُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَمْرًا يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ بْنِ خَالِدٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَهُ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ وَاقِدٍ أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ كَانَ لَا يُقِيمُ الصَّلَاةَ بِأَرْضٍ تُقَامُ بِهَا الصَّلَاةُ وَكَانَ لَا يُصَلِّي رَكْعَتَيِ الْفَجْرِ فِي السَّفَرِ وَكَانَ لَا يَدَعُهُمَا فِي الْحَضَرِ قِيلَ لِسُفْيَانَ فَإِنَّ حَمَّادَ بْنَ زَيْدٍ يَقُولُ فِي هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ أَوْ فِي بَعْضِهِ عَنْ يَزِيدَ الْفَقِيرِ فَقَالَ سُفْيَانُ مَا سَمِعْتُ عَمْرًا ذَاكِرًا يَزِيدَ قَطُّ مَا قَالَ لَنَا إِلَّا أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عِكْرِمَةَ يَعْنِي ابْنَ خَالِدٍ يُحَدِّثُ
