ذِكْرُ الْبَيَانِ بِأَنَّ الْمَرْءَ وَإِنْ كَانَ مُجِدًّا فِي الطَّاعَاتِ إِذَا وَرَدَتْ عَلَيْهِ حَالَةُ الضِّيقِ وَالْمَنْعِ يَجِبُ أَنْ يَسْتَوِي قَلْبُهُ عِنْدَهَا مَعَ حَالَةِ الْوُسْعِ وَالْإِعْطَاءِ

ibnhibban:729al-Ḥasan b. Sufyān > al-Walīd b. Shujāʿ > ʿAlī b. Mushir > Hishām b. ʿUrwah from his father > ʿĀʾishah

[Machine] The family of Muhammad (pbuh) used to live for three months without kindling a fire in which they would have nothing to burn except water and dates. Around us were families from the Ansar (helpers) who had chickens in their courtyards. So the people of each house would send to the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) the surplus of their soup, and the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) would have some of that milk.  

ابن حبّان:٧٢٩أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ شُجَاعٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

«لَقَدْ كَانَ آلُ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ يَرَوْنَ ثَلَاثَةَ أَشْهُرٍ مَا يَسْتَوْقِدُونَ فِيهِ بِنَارٍ مَا هُوَ إِلَّا الْمَاءُ وَالتَّمْرُ وَكَانَ حَوْلَنَا أَهْلُ دُورٍ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ لَهُمْ دَوَاجِنُ فِي حَوَائِطِهِمْ فَكَانَ أَهْلُ كُلِّ دَارٍ يَبْعَثُونَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِغَزِيرِ شَاتِهِمْ فَكَانَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ مِنْ ذَلِكَ اللَّبَنِ»
