ذِكْرُ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ الدَّوْسِيِّ ؓ

ibnhibban:7150Muḥammad b. Isḥāq b. Ibrāhīm a freed slave of Thaqīf > Yaʿqūb b. Ibrāhīm al-Dawraqī > Ibn ʿUlayyah / > al-Jurayrī > Muḍārib b. Ḥazn > Baynā

[Machine] While I was traveling at night, I came across a man who was performing the act of tasbih (saying "Subhanallah"). I asked him, "Who is this person who is performing tasbih?" He replied, "Abu Hurairah." I then asked, "Why is he performing tasbih?" He said, "Out of gratitude." I asked, "Gratitude for what?" He answered, "Gratitude for the fact that I used to serve Busrat, the daughter of Ghazwan, by carrying her belongings and providing for her sustenance. When the people would ride their camels, I would give them water, and when they would stop, I would serve them. Allah then blessed me with her, and she became my wife. So now, whenever the people ride, I ride, and whenever they stop, I serve."
