ذِكْرُ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْجَمُوحِ رِضْوَانُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ

ibnhibban:7024Aḥmad b. Mukram b. Khālid al-Bartī > ʿAlī b. al-Madīnī > Mūsá b. Ibrāhīm b. Kathīr b. Bashīr b. Fākih al-Sulamī > Ṭalḥah b. Khirāsh > Jābir

[Machine] I heard Jabir saying, "Amr ibn al-Jamuh came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the day of Uhud and said, 'O Messenger of Allah, whoever is killed today will enter Paradise?' He replied, 'Yes.' Amr said, 'By the One in whose hand is my soul, I will not go back to my family until I enter Paradise.' Upon hearing this, Umar ibn al-Khattab said to him, 'O Amr, do not rush in your expectations from Allah.' Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Umar, 'Wait, O Umar, for there are some among them who, if they swear by Allah, they will fulfill it. Amr ibn al-Jamuh, for example, will enter Paradise, crawling with his intestines.'"
