ذِكْرُ الْأَمْرِ بِتَرْكِ الْأَشْيَاءِ مِنَ الْفُضُولِ الَّتِي تُذَكِّرُ الدُّنْيَا، وَتُرَغِّبُ النَّاسَ فِيهَا

[Machine] "We had some idols with us, and they were hanging on my door. When the Prophet ﷺ saw that, he said, 'Take them down, for they remind me of the worldly life.'"  

ابن حبّان:٦٧٢ – أَخْبَرَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ مُوسَى بْنِ مُجَاشِعٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ أَبِي هِنْدٍ عَنْ عَزْرَةَ هُوَ ابْنُ سَعْدٍ الْأَعْوَرُ عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْحِمْيَرِيِّ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

كَانَ لَنَا قِرَامٌ فِيهِ تَمَاثِيلُ فَعُلِّقَتْ عَلَى بَابِي فَرَأَى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ ذَلِكَ فقَالَ «انْزِعِيهِ فَإِنَّهُ يُذَكِّرُنِي الدُّنْيَا»

"We had a cloth which had some pictures on it as a curtain on my door. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw it and said: 'Remove it, for it reminds me of the world.'" She said: "We had a piece of velvet that had patches of silk on it which we used to wear."  

Abū ʿĪsá said that this Ḥadīth is Ḥasan-Ṣaḥīḥ-Gharīb in this particular context.
الترمذي:٢٤٦٨ – حَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادٌ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ أَبِي هِنْدٍ عَنْ عَزْرَةَ عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْحِمْيَرِيِّ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

كَانَ لَنَا قِرَامُ سِتْرٍ فِيهِ تَمَاثِيلُ عَلَى بَابِي فَرَآهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ انْزِعِيهِ فَإِنَّهُ يُذَكِّرُنِي الدُّنْيَا قَالَتْ وَكَانَ لَنَا سَمَلُ قَطِيفَةٍ عَلَمُهَا مِنْ حَرِيرٍ كُنَّا نَلْبَسُهَا  

قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ غَرِيبٌ مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ
