[Machine] We were with the Prophet ﷺ and they started discussing the worldly life and the hereafter. Some of them said, "The worldly life is only a means for the hereafter. In it, there is work, prayer, and zakat." And a group of them said, "The hereafter is where paradise is." They also said, "Whatever Allah wills." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said, "The worldly life in the hereafter is like how one of you dips his finger into the sea and then sees what quantity of water is on it. That is the worldly life."  

كُنَّا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَتَذَاكَرُوا الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةَ فَقَالَ بَعْضُهُمْ إِنَّمَا الدُّنْيَا بَلَاغٌ لِلْآخِرَةِ فِيهَا الْعَمَلُ وَفِيهَا الصَّلَاةُ وَفِيهَا الزَّكَاةُ وَقَالَتْ طَائِفَةٌ مِنْهُمُ الْآخِرَةُ فِيهَا الْجَنَّةُ وَقَالُوا مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَا الدُّنْيَا فِي الْآخِرَةِ إِلَّا كَمَا يَمْشِي أَحَدُكُمْ إِلَى الْيَمِّ فَأَدْخَلَ إِصْبَعَهُ فِيهِ فَمَا خَرَجَ مِنْهُ فَهِيَ الدُّنْيَا»
