[Machine] We stayed for three days, and whoever went out to the mosque would take the hands of two or three people, according to their capacity, and feed them. He said, "So I was among those who made a mistake for three days and its nights." He said, "Then I saw Abu Bakr in the darkness, so I came to him and he recited Surah Saba' to me until he reached his house. I hoped that he would invite me to eat, so he recited to me until he reached the door of the house. Then he stood at the door and recited the rest to me, then he entered and left me. Then Umar approached me and I did the same to him as Abu Bakr did. And he mentioned that he did the same as Abu Bakr. When I woke up in the morning, I went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and informed him. He said to the maid, "Is there anything?" She said, "Yes, a loaf of bread and a chunk of butter." So he called for it and he cut the bread with his hand. Then he took the chunk of butter and melted the bread with it, and then he mixed them with his hand until it became a lump. Then he said, "Go and invite ten, and you are the tenth." So I invited ten and I was the tenth. Then he said, "Sit down," and I placed the tray. Then he said, "Eat in the name of Allah, eat from its sides and do not eat from the top, for blessings come down from the top." So we ate until we were satisfied, as if we had brought it by our fingers. Then he took from it and added to it and brought it back. Then he said, "Invite ten more." And he mentioned that he invited ten, ten more times, and he said, "They were granted superiority, superiority."  

أَقَمْنَا ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ وَكَانَ مَنْ يَخْرُجُ إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ يَأْخُذُ بِيَدِ الرَّجُلَيْنِ وَالثَّلَاثَةِ بِقَدْرِ طَاقَةٍ وَيُطْعِمُهُمْ قَالَ فَكُنْتُ فِيمَنْ أَخْطَأَهُ ذَلِكَ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ وَلَيَالِيهَا قَالَ فَأَبْصَرْتُ أَبَا بَكْرٍ عِنْدَ الْعَتَمَةِ فَأَتَيْتُهُ فَاسْتَقْرَأْتُهُ مِنْ سُورَةِ سَبَأٍ فَبَلَغَ مَنْزِلَهُ وَرَجَوْتُ أَنْ يَدْعُوَنِي إِلَى الطَّعَامِ فَقَرَأَ عَلَيَّ حَتَّى بَلَغَ بَابَ الْمَنْزِلِ ثُمَّ وَقَفَ عَلَى الْبَابِ حَتَّى قَرَأَ عَلَيَّ الْبَقِيَّةَ ثُمَّ دَخَلَ وَتَرَكَنِي ثُمَّ تَعَرَّضْتُ لِعُمَرَ فَصَنَعْتُ بِهِ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ وَذَكَرَ أَنَّهُ صَنَعَ مِثْلَ مَا صَنَعَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ فَلَمَّا أَصْبَحْتُ غَدَوْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ فَقَالَ لِلْجَارِيَةِ «هَلْ مِنْ شَيْءٍ؟» قَالَتْ نَعَمْ رَغِيفٌ وَكُتْلَةٌ مِنْ سَمْنٍ فَدَعَا بِهَا ثُمَّ فَتَّ الْخُبْزَ بِيَدِهِ ثُمَّ أَخَذَ تِلْكَ الْكُتْلَةَ مِنَ السَّمْنِ فَلَتَّ تِلْكَ الْخُبْزَةَ ثُمَّ جَمَعَهُ بِيَدِهِ حَتَّى صَيَّرَهُ ثَرِيدَةً ثُمَّ قَالَ «اذْهَبِ ادْعُ لِي عَشَرَةً أَنْتَ عَاشِرُهُمْ» فَدَعَوْتُ عَشَرَةً أَنَا عَاشِرُهُمْ ثُمَّ قَالَ «اجْلِسُوا» وَوضَعْتُ الْقَصْعَةَ ثُمَّ قَالَ «كُلُوا بِسْمِ اللَّهِ كُلُوا مِنْ جَوَانِبِهَا وَلَا تَأْكُلُوا مِنْ فَوْقِهَا فَإِنَّ الْبَرَكَةَ تَنْزِلُ مِنْ فَوْقِهَا» فَأَكَلْنَا حَتَّى صَدَرْنَا فَكَأَنَّمَا خَطَطْنَا فِيهِ بِأَصَابِعِنَا ثُمَّ أَخَذَ مِنْهَا وَأَصْلَحْ مِنْهَا وَرَدَّهَا ثُمَّ قَالَ «ادْعُ لِي عَشَرَةً» وَذَكَرَ أَنَّهُ دَعَا بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ مَرَّتَيْنِ عَشَرَةً عَشَرَةً وَقَالَ قَدْ فَضَلُوا فَضْلًا
